1. How Hard Is It?

 MBBS in India

If you want to study MBBS in India, you have to pass the NEET exam. Seriously, over 2 million students are fighting for about 100,000 MBBS spots (including the ones at private colleges). It's a mad dash!

*Government colleges: These are the golden tickets—around 55,000–60,000 seats with super low fees.

*Private colleges: 40,000+ seats, but brace yourself. Fees can be anywhere from 70 lakhs - 1 crore rs or even more!

Even if you score decently on the NEET, landing a spot at a government medical school can feel like winning the lottery. That's why many students end up settling for a private colleges or looking at options in other countries.

MBBS Abroad

Lots of countries like – Russia, Mauritius, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, China, and places in Europe – have MBBS  programs that are much cheaper and way less competitive than what you'll find in India.

*   Heads up: Indian students still need to pass the NEET to study medicine abroad (that's what the Medical Commission of India says).

*   The good news? Most foreign universities don't make you take another entrance exam.

*   Some might have an interview or some basic tests, though.

* If you can't secure a government seat in India, going abroad can be a less stressful route.

2. Cost of Education ?

  1. Really useful comparison of MBBS admissions here. When I looked into medical pg in germany for indian students, I noticed many are also considering MBBS abroad first because of lower fees, better clinical exposure, and simpler admission processes. It seems choosing between India vs. abroad comes down to budget, career goals, and how much risk you’re okay with.
